Why Dive in July
July continues the monsoon pattern. Conditions mirror June - frequent rain, reduced visibility, strong currents. But diving continues at all sheltered sites, and tiger shark encounters remain daily.
The plankton-rich waters of monsoon season have a silver lining: whale sharks. The nutrient bloom draws juvenile and occasionally large female whale sharks closer to Fuvahmulah's reefs. These encounters are unscheduled and thrilling.
July remains a budget month with low tourist numbers. Experienced divers who enjoy challenging conditions and don't mind rain will find excellent diving with minimal competition for sites.
