Fuvahmulah is diveable year-round - there is no month when diving stops. Tiger sharks are present at Tiger Harbour every single day regardless of season. The question isn't 'when can I dive?' but 'what else do I want to see besides tigers?'
The dry season (December-April) offers the best visibility (30-40m+), calmest seas, and access to all dive sites. January-February is the peak for clarity. Hammerhead schools are active October through April. Oceanic mantas mate March through May.
The monsoon season (May-October) brings reduced visibility (15-25m), rougher seas, and limited access to western sites. But tiger shark encounters are completely unaffected, prices drop significantly, and plankton blooms attract whale sharks.
For the widest species diversity, March is hard to beat: tiger sharks daily, hammerheads still schooling, manta mating season beginning, thresher sharks at dawn. For the best conditions overall, February offers peak visibility. For the best value, June-August is the cheapest period.
