Why Dive in April
April is peak manta mating season at Fuvahmulah. The manta trains reach their largest size - chains of 3-8 males pursuing single females along the reef edges. The spectacle is breathtaking at any depth.
This is the last month of hammerhead season, creating a brief window where manta trains and hammerhead schools overlap. Tiger sharks remain daily at Tiger Harbour. Thresher sharks visit dawn cleaning stations.
The monsoon transition begins in late April. Conditions remain good for diving but afternoon clouds increase. Tourist numbers dip slightly, making this a good value month with fewer crowds at sites.
