Why Dive in March
March is arguably Fuvahmulah's most exciting month. The manta mating season begins, bringing oceanic manta trains along the reef edges. Hammerheads are still schooling at the southern sites. Tiger sharks are present daily. Threshers visit cleaning stations at dawn. It's the month with the widest species diversity.
Water temperature rises to 29-30°C. Visibility remains excellent at 30-35 metres. The dry season is transitioning, with occasional brief showers but predominantly sunny conditions.
The convergence of manta mating and hammerhead season makes March exceptional for divers who want to see everything Fuvahmulah offers in a single trip.
