Why Dive in October
October is a turning point. The southwest monsoon lifts, visibility climbs rapidly back to 25-35 metres, and hammerhead schools begin forming at the southern reef sites. It's the opening of what will be six months of peak diving.
The combination of improving conditions and opening hammerhead season makes October an excellent value choice. Tourist numbers haven't peaked yet, so sites are quiet and prices remain moderate.
Tiger sharks continue their unbroken daily pattern at Tiger Harbour. Thresher sharks are active at dawn. The pelagic diversity is building toward the dry-season peak.
